Thank you, Arturo.

This gentleman is a local Mohawk. He was demonstrating how maple sap was refined before Europeans arrived. You can see the sap in the hollowed tree trunk. Round stones were heated in the fire and then carried to the sap using a deer antler. This process was much slower than was possible using the iron buckets of the Europeans. The buckets were much sought after in trade!

Thanks, Ian, it's all very enriching. Canadian maple syrup is sold here in Spain; I sometimes buy it to sweeten things.

Returning from Paco's sunny Spain to Nordic normality means *snow*. And cold weather. My lungs prefer being indoors and I totally agree.

Ruth is pre-cultivating tomato plants in a hydroponic setup. Perfect for the CRT Nikkor-O 55mm f/1.2 on the V1. Some times ago, I got a heap of used V1 bodies through my Nikon repair connection. These bodies had defects that doomed them to being discarded. This particular camera used here had a scratch on the sensor, which is hard to detect unless I look specifically for it. Erik turned the camera into M42 mount so I can put the odd lens on it through focusing helicoids. Other V1 bodies host Ultra-Micro-Nikkor lenses for dedicated close-ups.

Old does not equal obsolete :) These cameras, despite their many dumbed-down features, still are enjoyable and pleasant to use. Image quality can be more than adequate as well.

Yes its called Cardoon, Cardoons (Cynara cardunculus) are an herbaceous perennial plant and member of the thistle family, related to sunflowers and the globe artichoke.

I photographed this thistle on Monday. It's curious that in such distant places thistles grow at the same rate.

After exploring for a while and trying his hand at tapping trees with a hand drill, my son sat down to enjoy a rest and a sample of freshly produced maple syrup.
