I spent the first few weeks of October backpacking with friends in Yosemite and the Ansel Adams Wilderness. On one of the last nights, I was photographing our camp at night at a stunning high lake. It was very light -- the sun had just set and the 3/4 moon was high up and shining brightly. I showed one of my friends an image I had just taken and said, "Look at the cool meteor I got." He looked at the image, then up at the sky and said, "COMET!" We hadn't been able to see it up to that point because the sky was so light. I ran down to the lake but just wish we had been able to see the comet about 10 minutes earlier. Nikon D850, Nikkor 24-85mm f3.5-4.5.
