The lens is stuck to the camera body
« on: August 15, 2024, 07:04:05 »
Hello, a few days ago my nikon camera fell and when I turned the camera clockwise to remove the lens the lens got stuck to the camera body.

Should I use strong force to get past that stuck point? I'm afraid I will break something and repair it will be very difficult. Need advice from experts. Thank.

You have overshot the locking slit and the claws of the camera and lens mount no longer are aligned. Usually one can get the lens off by carefully wiggling the lens back and forth around that point. It once took me 1 hour to unmount a stuck Nikkor 35-200mm in this manner :) Tat was an extreme example, of course.

Never use force when you try to unmount a lens. That will only make matters worse.
