Looking at Roland's site I can't find this model. Am I sitting on a rare Nikkor or..?

I bought one of those, too. It's nice but nothing special, either ;) If you got it cheap, just keep it. I really like the looks of it!

It produces very nice images despite its 4/4 construction.

That 135 is one of the best looking Nikkors.  It just looks cool.

Those are really nice images. I have come to realise that the 135mm in its early non-Ai guise is one of the great Nikon bargains. Almost forgotten, mostly unloved yet capable of wonderful image. I found one rolling about in the £5 rummage box in my local photo shop and am very pleased with it.

Really nice work Sten.

Just because a lens is a bargain, there is no reason to write it off.  Mine cost me $US20, and I have added a metering CPU which all up added around another $US80.  That said it works well, is easy to use, and has a useful f/2.8 maximum aperture.  Sure it is not  the latest and greatest, but it is great value for money.
