Alas, my only $100+ monitor wouldn't be able to offer any decent quality to appreciate your image, Michael.

My main job has always been purely text-based and doesn't justify such expense for a quality, well-calibrated 4K monitor!

Could be interesting to watch same image made with Nikon + Z105mm?
At web image size there should not be much difference?
Probably better background blur with larger sensor and better color-tones (if that is visible at web size images)?

In my experience with the Nikon Z 105mm MC S lens compared to lenses on the Hasselblad X2D, which I have used a lot, both are, of course, individual and very nice indeed.

Yet there is a punch and detail in the the larger senses in the X2D that says "Medium Format' that can't duplicated. At least I can't.

I am not looking at using the X2D with an an adapter for Nikon F lenses. For example, I adapted the Leica 100mm Elmarit R lens to Nikon F and am using it with the X2D to see what I can see.

Here is a single image, no stacking, with the Leica 100mm Emarit R just to see how it does.

For a "poor man" to do high-res stacked images would it be possible to use the pixel-shift function some Nikon-Z bodies have implemented?

Well, I'm poor now. I am selling like 50 lenses to pay for the X2d. I have the pixel-shift on the Nikon Z8, but creating the pixel-shifted images, the layers, and then stacking them would be possible, but quite the PITA, IMO. At every turn in the road, every new piece of equipment or lack thereof, the best moment for me is when I stop assuming the road to the future of my photography is new gear. Instead, I slow down, take my time, and create photographs.

THe X2D is for me a new system, and one without a lot of the conveniences I am used to with the Nikon systems, like a viable remote, a toggle to move the cursor around on the screen, etc. Plus, I have to find out how to get what I want out of a new camera. I must bend to its demands without getting vexed at what it can't do, meaning what I can no longer do that I can do with the Nikons.

The X2D, if I can manage the camera, will make somewhat of a new kind of photographer out of me. I am willing for that to happen, but just willingness and a ticket will get me a ride on the bus.

I have to reshape myself around this camera until I discover how to best use it.
