You certainly have found your way around the insects and that 105mm lens :) I'm impressed. No flash?

D7200 is known for it sharpness, but the Lester Dine did you use some extension? I have the Kiron should be similar in output!
Well done!

Slowly working my way through the image backlog accumulating this autumn .... Too much time spent on my pro bono chores at the Botanical Museum apparently .) Oh well. I'll get there eventually. Or so I hope.

Fallen leaf on car roof. Z30 with the 16-50 DX Z lens, which is optically quite good although its build quality is a little on the uncertain side. I wonder how long it would last were I to use it every day??

Hello Fons,

The Wikipedia article you have linked to gives a good description of this specis when growing as a solitary, in widely spaced company, or near other small trees such as Ulmus alata (Winged elm).

This tree is also commonly found in growing in proximity to other members of its' specis, or occasionally mixed with other mid sized trees such as Quercus palustris (Pin oak), Carya tomentosa (White hickory), or Fraxinus americana (White ash). In this sort of grouping the trunk of a mature tree will rise 7-10 meters before branching to form the crown. Situated thus, the height is often  17-20 meters in the northern and central portions of the range.

Daewo, Doosan, Develon, they change names more often than products, third name since 2000, soon it will be Saint Develon, as they now hired a MD for Central Europe from an Austrian company  ;)

Thanks Fons! For this shot I actually have the PK-13 attached to the Lester Dine / Kiron as I was photographing a smaller bee. Normally for this particular bee I'll shoot without any extension at 1:1.

Thank you Birna. Oh yes I have used a small  flash (Meike 320) with DIY diffuser for taking the bee shots.  I got interested in stalking bees mainly in the backyard, especially native & solitary bees thanks to the lockdown  8). It got me into gardening as well - to attract more bees.
