Hi, many years ago I photographed bees on dandelions. Finding the right moment is not easy, but observing the behavior of insects can help.
I noticed that just before taking off, the bee cleans the pollen out of its eyes with its front legs. In this way I was able to anticipate the shot and freeze the action.
Before I had many shots without bees, this way you get good pictures.
Nikon D80 micro-nikkor 60mm @ f25 1/200s 100 ISO - flash SB400

Yes, I agree with the others. Usually when I photograph a bee or a bug I wait till they land because I’m afraid either the flower will be out of  focus and the theme of the picture will be gone but you’ve done a nice job of getting both of them in good focus thanks for sharing. I’m going to have to try this myself. Was this  heavily cropped from a distance so both will be in focus?

The info Ezio gave is: f:25, so I would say heavily closed aperture, disregarding diffraction, allows for a sufficient DOF
