Voigtländer Color-Skopar 50/3.5 for Prominent
« on: December 27, 2022, 20:15:20 »
While I am thinking about a new Z-mount 35/1.2 Voigtländer lens for my Z50 I tried out a real vintage Voigtländer lens which was made for the old 35mm Prominent camera.
For this camera a 50/3.5 Color-Skopar was made. I think it was the "cheap" entry level lens as the 50/2 Ultron and 50/1.5 Nokton was expensive lenses.

According this this it could be called an APO lens?

I use it via a helicoid adapter. The lens itself has no focus helicoid.
A couple of images attached with 100% crops. Also a picture of the lens attached to Z50. These were shot at 5.6. Lens is sharp also at 3.5.
CA is under very good control?
It is possible to make an APO lens with only 4 lens elements?    .....I guess it is possible because of the small aperture 3.5?

An example also at full open aperture at 3.5!  with 100% crop.

A few more images from this afternoon shot at 3.5 (full open) at around 1/60 handheld at ISO 400.
It was overcast and rainy and sun was just gone down.
Lens does quite well. I have seen much worse from modern lenses in the highlight transitions.
Each image has a 100% crop.
