Nikon Zfc IR (720nm) 1/1600s, 16-50mm DX lens at 16mm, f3.5

In the high desert (6,500 ft/1,981m) of northern New Mexico USA, this lone pinon tree stands guard along the entrance road of the Ghost Ranch, the home of artist Georgia O'Keeffe, once married to noted photographer Alfred Stieglitz.

The skies in the area are typically sunny and blue, even in winter with around 300 sunny days per year. The local weather forecaster termed this sky "cloudy" which offered some drama to the scene along with a couple contrails.
