An approx. 250 yrs old beech tree with a Z - meaning Zier (German, a label for a "decorative" tree). The Z was carved in the mid 19'th century.

I found some wonderful Beech trees in Herefordshire UK yesterday.

Part way up, growing on a cut/broken branch off the trunk is a group of what may be Porcelain mushrooms
