Atmosphere of departure

Karlmera, your style is really distinctive, but i don't believe you've ever talked your working methods.

I think you also recently suggested it would be good if Smartphone images were not posted on Nikongear (Future of Nikongear thread)

Does that mean you make use of some of the effects that optics create?
Rather than in PP (which of course would also be possible with Smartphone images)?

I would like it if every photographer would have an own style.

Yes, I think that the 4,7Mrd mobile phone users can make the same pictures, and they do not need NG for that and the mobile phones take away the thinking.

Maybe I misunderstand?, but mobile phones: there is a phone, a camera and network to access internet/online apps. The latter might be a source of distraction and "take away thinking". Using the camera in my phone makes me think and observe - just as with any other camera. And I can just turn off the distractions..

Karlmera, unfortunately you didn't respond to Colin's questions. I would also have been interested in the answer. Just not in the mood to share? Or is there a secret sauce to your working methods? :) :) :)

Why should I consider having my own style - what is your reason for that? When I take pictures I have an intention with my images - not a style. To me a distinct and repetitive style risks becoming lacking in variety and interest.. quickly.

Very well said Lars, I can only agree. I also think that the message of a photo and not a particular style should take centre stage. That's just my personal opinion.

That is ok, you are free and you can do what you like. My thougts were that mobile phone pictures are not attractive for additional supporters and no reason to get a membership.
