Really like the photo.
I just got a used (is there any other kind?) specimen of this lens a couple of weeks ago. Haven't really had a chance to use it but from what I've seen it's gonna be a keeper. I still love the old Nikkor 105/2.5 P-C but the Micro will be more than sufficient for my uses. I very much like having AF which seems more than adequate for non-macro subjects.
Thank you.
One interesting thing you'll find with your newly acquired Micro 105 D Nikkor is that it will offer a
very wide treatment of out of focus areas. For what little it's worth when using this lens I'll almost always check the result immediately after taking the photo: what the out of focus areas contain and how they are lighted seem to affect how this lens "paints" to a greater extent than many of the other macro lenses I use. Exposure and/or lighting adjustments can be helpful. On the other hand I've occasionally used post processing to make a "bootleggers turn" to the initial intent in making the image as in this photo.
