I'm not very productive at present -- than you, Covid -- but sometimes manage to complete smaller projects. This is an example of a test for the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 macro lens that can do 2X. At its near limit, the working distance is quite short which initially put me off using the lens in the field. However, for studio work and stacking the short working distance is a non-issue and for vertical photography in fact a bonus.

This is 100% crop of a 2X image (stacking 45 frames in Zerene) of the aecidia of the rust fungus Puccinia urticata on foliage of the Common Stinging Nettle, done at 2X with the Z7. The lens behaves very well (f/5.6). In fact, one of the best I've seen at 2X. Click up the photo in a separate window  to see the details at full (100%) size.

I see that now. On my smart phone (possibly not so smart) it looked just like the renderings I see as a poltitician who prepares decisions on building developments.

I have noticed that pictures from John's Angenieux lens sometimes have a slightly low-contrast and de-saturated look that reminds me of architectural rendering ("artist's conception") drawings.

Yes, that's true, and is also part of the post-processing. I love that rendering at times

Congratulations Frank on your new monitor.  What graphics card have you paired it with?

Last weekend my old Monitor died after serving me for 13 years. My repairman said that he cannot repair the unit and a used monitor of that model would cost roughly 35 Euro. So it was time for a new monitor and today it arrived. Now us two have to get aquainted. It is a BenQ PhotoVue Monitor SW270C just like so many hardware calibrated systems on this forum. It had a hood, and it is so large and bright and sharp and full of details.... Very confusing. I need to do some setup now... Yesterday I had a day out with a foldable bike. That is where I saw the grain
