Z TC 2x rattling noise when shaken
« on: May 19, 2022, 22:18:34 »
Today I bought a Z TC 2x converter, to be used with the 100-400 that is arriving in the next days.

I was surprised a bit by hearing that there is something ticking/rattling inside if I shake it. I know that the old F-mount converters could rattle due to the aperture coupling lever when not mounted. But why does a Z converter have this rattling sound, if there is no coupling lever?

Could someone of you kindly try if your Z TC 2X rattles too?

Small update... When mounted on the 100-400, no rattling noise. I guess it's the spring from the release button, then.

Just curious to hear if anyone else has this rattling noise when the TCZ is not mounted...

Then it's probably ok, just keep an ear on it in the future to see if this continues.
