Odd question - where are my Sent PM's?
« on: April 07, 2022, 17:57:54 »
I can see my inbox, but I am not sure how to see my replies? Maybe it is right in front of my eyes?

Thanks,
Rob.

Thanks, I was not "seeing" that the black outlined "Messages" was a menu!

I have twice sent reply PMs and I get a message that it is sent successfully but I don't know if the person is getting them and there is nothing in my "Sent" messages.

Is there any current problem with the PM system?

Thanks,
Rob.

Sometimes e-mails are blocked at the receiving end. Little we can do about that, unfortunately.

OK, i thought I was sending within the forum system.

There are no messages in my "Sent" even though in the past I have sent some.

I guess it is not critical, but it seems that the messaging system is not working well.

I was also puzzled by this for quite a long time.

There is an option (that wasn't selected as default) to save a copy of each message into a "sent" folder.
So for ages, j never had copies of messaged I'd sent.

I recently changed the "theme" for the Nikongear forum.
It appears in doing so, this changed things back to the default of not saving a copy of sent messages - see below

I set that now, that is part of the problem for sure.

My screen does not look anything like yours, i don't have a sidebar like that. Weird.

There was a setting that turned on Side Menus, so that was it for that aspect.

I think the main issue for your original question was that our forum software doesn't default to saving a copy of our sent messages. I feel this isn't a good default & many people will only find out after they've been using the site (and have sent many messages) for a while.

Birna, do you know if this can be changed?

Meanwhile  RobOK, the look & feel, sidebars etc can be individually tweaked.
But in my case, it was recommended I change to a particular "theme" in the hope that it would resolve a different technical issue. In doing so, i acquired the yellow feel, plus various other changes like some sidebars.
