I'll say more than that, yes. Liking the perceived sharpness and bokeh. I know handling is very good to excellent from giving it a go at a local shop in Madrid. It just that the 24_70 vr can work with all my camera bodies that stopped me from making the exchange on the spot (the offer a sweet deal too)

Thank you all for the nice comments. I'm lucky to have a group of young people very passionate about what they do.
 Definetly joi the vivre  :)

Just noticed that the shadows cast on the road work as effective compositional elements.

Finally I did take some photos & I even met Martine Henry!

But then Covid put me down into bed and of all my beautiful shots in April you get to see only one and it is a sad one:
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

As the Z9 blows everyone away, what shall come afterwards?

The Z9 ist definitely too much for me. I would rather buy me more time to shoot at all. My friend at Ford has the camera and I can use it whenever I want to use it. It is a very complicated tool that needs a lot of thinking and configuration to get it exactly to the point where you want to have it. Fine grain super complex configuration. My friend loves it. My current shooting frequency is kind of once or twice per moth plus holidays, down from daily shooting for nearly 40 years.

What is your day to day experience, John?

Not much sun today.

great shadow/light, but something went wrong with the geometry. The house seems to fall away from us?

6 years ago I sold my FM2 to Frank. And now this April I bought it back.
Great for Nikongear to join like-minded people around the globe.
The FM2 and X100V have place in a tiny 6L bag by PeakDesign.
I'm a happy camper - many thanks Frank :)

A pity I could not get the FM2 to work with my eyes. I even employed a master optician to custom make a lens for me to adapt to the FM-2 (used to be my favourite camera, mine fell nearly apart when I sold it in 2004 after 16 years and many tens of thousands of shots ...)

... happy it does work for you.

Sorry for the current lens cap. You historical FM-2 cap is somewhere in my photo equipment storage
