Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 and a K1 ring
« on: March 13, 2022, 04:13:23 »
Not feeling very creative recently, I decided to try something new. Birna mentioned on her old naturfotograf site that some of the manual wide-angle Nikkors do well with the very thin K1 ring attached. So today I gathered my 24mm f/2.8 AI, a K1 ring and a suitable subject. This was just a quick and dirty test to see the effect of adding the K1 ring. The only post-processing was to correct the white balance. No artistic merit is implied.

The first image shows the lens at its minimum focus distance, which is just under a meter according to the focus scale. The second shows the lens with the K1 ring at the minimum focus distance.

Two thoughts spring to mind:
1) This could be fun;
2) I had better learn how to stack focus.

Seems to be working fine.

1m closest focus? Must be 1 ft.
