Kim:

A beauty!  On my bucket list for sure.  I hope to capture all 5 species of loons before my bucket gets dumped!

Good shooting angle.  Were you on shore or in a boat?

Looking forward to more if available.

Thanks Randy,

I was on a low bridge with the camera on a KES Low Pod Mount with Flexshooter Pro:

A very useful setup with touch focus on the Z7 II LCD.

The Black-throated Diver is quite gregarious - even during breeding time. In "our" lake there is only one pair breeding, but quite often large flocks of adults are seen. Today we had a flock of 18 birds!

Kim:  Thanks for the group picture and the story behind it.  Common loons do gather a bit, but its usually pretty contentious, a power play, rather than friendly.
