information on Cine-Nikkors
« on: July 14, 2021, 04:32:52 »
as everybody may have guessed it, i am currently running dangerously low on space (japanese houses are tiny) so i am currently collecting small things like cine-nikkors ::)
i may have to stop at some point because even my daughter is complaining :o :o :o

getting back to the topic.
it appears that there arent many information about these things, dates, formula, serial numbers, etc.
when i do a search it looks like my articles appear to be some of the very few sources available and that is not good.

maybe we can help collect information like dates and serial numbers and give it to our hero, Roland?
i can do that and do the repair and reviews which i assume very little people could do or are interested in.
these have to be documented as they are very interesting.
they also seem to have many variations from small details to the size of the elements, even.
i have seen boxes that appear to have been made from the 1950s and that same model looked unchanged and appears with a box from the 1979s or even the 1980s.
the C-mount ones looks like they were made for a very long time.

I had a set of them and a few individuals, sold later to some indy film makers. Wonderful little lenses.
have a few documents about them. Here some of mine in use:
http://forum.mflenses.com/a-winter-afternoon-walk-cine-nikkor-1-8-50mm-and-lumix-gh1-t23729.html

This NIkon pdf-file you have? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj_0MCm9vDxAhVLLewKHVi0CogQFjAOegQIEhAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.savazzi.net%2Fdownload%2Fmanuals%2FCine-Nikkor.pdf&usg=AOvVaw1Yyv0otSVdmkZo6knH2oWB

My dear italian friend Marco Cavina has also written about them here with lots of details/lens schematics etc: http://www.marcocavina.com/articoli_fotografici/Nikon_Cine-Nikkor/00_pag.htm

PS: I like your thread about repairing them: https://richardhaw.com/2021/05/13/repair-cine-nikkor-13mm-f-1-8/

unfortunately nikon doesnt really document these lenses, serial numbers, dates, etc as these arent considered consumer products :o :o :o
looks like my site has the most information on these anywhere ::) the factory papers i have dont even have dates, just the usual papers that accompany industrial nikkors. i am actually amused by the fact that cine-nikkors werent considered consumer products...maybe the market is too specialized?

I think a better solution would be to sell some items you don't use or have an attachment to unless you've grown tired of restoring and reviewing lenses.

I read almost every page you link here and find them interesting and useful.
