PMs
« on: July 11, 2021, 10:33:45 »
I am getting a database error when looking at sent messages - is there a problem with PMs, I haven't had a reply to a PM I sent either.

The error log shows there are specific SQL error messages concerning your PMs, Chris. We are looking into this, so far without finding the root cause. But keep trying. The DB is due for an update anyway, when I have the spare time. Sigh.

It is only when viewing the "sent" folder - the rest works fine. I get the same error accessing the gallery.

Your php error log should tell you what the issue is - my guess is that the SQL query is missing a value for some reason.

The gallery error is already known. I haven't heard people having issues viewing their 'Sent' folder before, though. Certainly works for me :)

Is use of the Galleries likely to return?
I have noticed that they appeared to be broken for sometime now.

I ask because I found the Galleries to be a very useful and easy way to insert images into a thread.

Unfortunately, not at present. We have issues that cannot be easily solved without a major software upgrade. For this to happen, NG needs to be set unavailable for a weekend or so. If I can find the time to do so :(

Gsllery troubles are likely linked to the current PM issues.

If there is anything I can do to help let me know - I wrote a lot of the code for Data1systems bulletin board and updated their software to include a new PM system  and a novel type of gallery with "rooms".

Pop over to https://nikon-dslr.net to see an example of the current version.

PS the adverts only appear for guests - registered members don't see them.
