Practice flight of the Blue Impulse, the aerobatics team of the Japanese Air Self-Defence Force, for the Tokyo Olympic Games I've been against since the bidding process.  :(

Shot with SIGMA fp with Ai Nikkor 200/4.0.  The RAW image was "enhanced" in ACR and then heavily cropped.

I share the bitter taste in your mouth. Just a horrible burden forced on us for decades.

But how is the FP after the latest firmware update? and the new optical eyepiece?

Akira, I can understand your reservations.  I just hope that Japan does not experience a COVID surge as a result of the games.  Here in Melbourne we are now in the middle of our 5th state government lockdown with an extension highly likely, so I really feel for all others battling the COVID pandemic.

Stay safe Akira San.

Thank you, gentlemen, for kind words and concern.  I would have to say that this event would become the worst shame that Japan has exposed to the world since the defeat of the WWII.

Snoogly, the FP has been noticeably improved by two major updates both in terms of image quality and functionality.  The natural cooling construction works great in the summer in Tokyo.  The FP offers neither high-ISO or long exposure noise reduction.   I have done many 30-second exposure in the summer night last year to shoot lightnings but never missed the long exposure NR.  I have shot many images at ISO 6400 and 12800 buit, again, never missed the high-ISO NR.

I love the second one that cools me down nicely.

Lovely.

I am currently torn between buying  a D3s and a D4s. The advantage is that the the D4s is theoretically still supported by Nikon. I have kind of ruled out the D3X as it is too funky.
