Hans, these are delightful.   "Technicolour terrors" is a most apt description for these critters!  ;D

Nevertheless great colour as we near the shortest day here in a mostly grey Melbourne.

Old Railway road is  transformed  into a bicycle-road.  Here 'Bels Lijntje', from Tilburg to Turnhout (in Belgium) more than 40km through Nature area's.

Two weeks into Winter here and with little blossom on the eucalypts the lorikeets are seeking alternatives. In our front garden the Lilli Pilli tree is under attack,  a fruit not normally favoured by these technicolour terrors. Z50... 50-250Z first, 200-500E second

I'll bet I could teach that bird to say, "Hi David!" point to it's head and say, "Scratch, scratch." Parrots know their mates names, they name their children. Their children know their parent's names and their siblings names. They are as smart as three year old children.

A secretary opens an office that is flooded with water from a plumbing leak in the next office suite. When secretary opens the door to the aviary a sulfur crested calls out, "Want some water darlin'?" He knows the water on the floor is the same as in his water cup.

Thank you Hugh, I'm now going out to catch today's one hour of sunshine!

Dave, I think that should read "they are as destructive as three year old children".  ;D ;D
