Dutch HI.5 visiting Middelfart harbour on the Danish island Fyn (Funen).

Sandra - same harbour.

A boat under repair at the Middelfart shipyard.

Same place as in #746 - a later visit.

Ship no. 2 from left is the ferry to the island Samsø that is located in the Kattegat sea in approx. the middle of Denmark. Kattegat is known as a dangerous shallow sea to navigate in and the name comes from a medieval maritime jargon based on cat and gate meaning "a passage so tight that even a cat would have difficulty squeezing its way through."  (Wikipedia).

There is also a ferry connecting Samsø and Jutland - so a nice way to take a slow trip by ship in shallow waters between Zealand and Jutland with a visit to Samsø.

Wow, this ship looks really unique!

A heavy lift crane ship: https://boskalis.com/about-us/fleet-and-equipment/offshore-vessels/heavy-lift-vessels

Thank you for the link.  I tend to be intrigued by the designs of specialized tools, vehicles planes and ships!

Good to know, strange boats are not unusual here in the Straits of Dover.

Today I was busy shooting with the last expected sunny weather for a few days. This is a detail of the ship "la niña", a replica of one of Cristobal Colon "calaveras" sitting in a roundabout close to home.

This view and shooting in infrared really took me back the memory line to Birna's shot in Barbate: reptilians in ir. \

An early morning arrival of the "Enterprize", a replica of the 1830 boat that traded between (what is now) Tasmania and Melbourne.
