The 180 AIS is probably too old to compete with the lenses nowadays. However, it withstands time in a sense that it is still a very capable lens if you know what you are doing and if you know what you would like to achieve. As you said, just like the AF version, if you hit focus, the results are special. Luckily, that was not what I was trying to achieve
If two great photographers (Armando and Mongo) believe that it could be a commercially successful concept I am even more happy with the results.
As promised, I went for the 85/1.5 Zenit attached tot he PN-11 just to see how it turns out.
I decided to post these images here although there is a dedicated Zenit thread somewhere. I wanted to compare the two unconventional setups and photography.
