A few (food) tips :
Don't miss the excellent Wiener style pastries at
'Wiener Konditorei ' at the Lange Poten 2511 EE The Hague
http://www.wienerkonditorei.nl/banketbakkerij/I'm a fan of their 'Sachertorte' for over 35 years now, despite no longer living in The Hague
for close to 20 years now still make a detour for it when I happen to be in the neighbourhood
If you like Indonesian style food and snacks, my longtime favorite foodplace is
Toko Semarang at the Danckertsstraat 77, 2517 TG The Hague
http://tokosemarang.org/Don't expect a flashy/trendy looking interior, but what they lack in 'presentation'
they more then make up with the quality/taste of the snacks
Don't forget to try their 'Lemper' - sticky rice rolls with a chicken/cocos filling-
and the Loempia Semarang -baked springrolls with a spring bamboo root/chicken filling-
Ask for the special (handmade) sauce they have in a small jar in the cooler
If you're more into a 'real' restaurant to eat your Indonesian food, visit
Restaurant Dewata at the Beeklaan 269 2562 AH The Hague
http://www.dewata.nl/Again not a flashy/trendy looking place, actually quite modest looking from the outside
The food has the same 'quiet' appearance, but the rich, yet not overly spicy taste will be a pleasant surprise
Their Tahu Gimbal - birdsnests made of tauge, shrimps and tofu, with white rice and a small bowl of sweet soy sauce -
keeps me coming back for well over 30 years now (yes, I'm a creature of habit
)
And oh yeah, The Hague has some real nice locations for eg fashion photography too
