D500, 200-500/5.6+TC14III, monopod with gimbal, VR on, windy(almost like in Michigan...)

Andrew - I dont understand the artifacts in the background - what size are your images posted at? sorry I just saw now. They appear very unsharp - are you able to post bigger? say 2000 pix long side? At at least quality 10?

Artifacts-maybe VR on, maybe not enough of DOF, was used f/8-this mean full aperture.

Any way that was exercise, just to gain if this kind of set(camera/lens) will produce decent results.

I did re-processed three pix...

Yes, most certainly!

I do see quite heavy posterization in the files, probably from jpeg compression. Perhaps there is a way to compress them less, to even better appreciate the result.

Whatever you did, don't compress files this heavily ... A single file on NG can be up to approx. 2.5 MB, these are just a few hundred KB.
