Sleeping it off
« on: November 28, 2016, 17:33:23 »
Taken a few weeks ago in a coffee shop here in downtown Toronto.
Cold fall day and I walked in to get a coffee to warm up as I continued to prowl the streets.
Slumped over at the counter was a man who was likely sleeping off a drunk. Many of the local fast food places allow homeless persons to come inside and use the facilities as long as they don't disturb the other patrons, and this chain is no exception.
The man didn't stir during the fifteen minutes I spent there, and I grabbed this shot just before leaving.
Motorized Nikon FG
Nikkor 24 f2 AIS manual focus
Fuji 100 ISO colour slide
f2 @ 1/125th
I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

touching. strong. expressive.

I especially like that you put the initial emphasis on the person in the center and the cane instead of the unconscious.
The diagonal then evolves by itself.
