BTW Just a remark re paper back drops, when the light is close t the surface of the paper and directed along the surface you see the texture of the paper, also apply for other textured surfaces

Erik - you are absolutely correct. I often apply a blur to the background if I was too close. The paper backdrop can have quite a distinct look. But sometimes thats what you want. (or in my case sometimes I am too lazy to do something about it )

A good attempt. However, the model shows the tendency to fade or merge into the background.  This might be an effect deliberately sought of course. If not, some very discrete rim lighting could solve the issue.

Lately I started to like deep blacks,- this to me is an example of how they could be effectivly used to create an image. Nice work , Armando.

I agree with the critiques about the texture on the paper, and the wardrobe getting lost into the background

I usually place the model farther away from the backdrop ... this time the "studio" was to small,  but this was shot with the zoom already wider than 50mm  and I was against a wall

The theme was "Gothic" and I kept the black on black merging into the background , anyhow a rim light would have nice, but the studio did not have flags or grilled lights, and it then becomes like a hose without control spilling light on more places than needed.
