Hi From Maine

Hi All,
   I'm new here and just wanted to give a brief bio. I was a lifelong professional musician and due to severe health issues had to retire. So I took up photography to quench my creative thirst. A very interesting challenge to now use my eyes instead of my ears creatively. I'll be posting my early efforts and would appreciate any tips and criticism. Looking forward to learning from and meeting you!

I love music and are more of an ear person than an eye person. That is why I started to take up photography: to train my visuals. Sometimes I still feel like a bloody beginner. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of what my photography could be like if I was more talented. And there are very certain subjects like food and portrait where my results are quite consistent.

That said I guess specialisation seems a promising path to me.

I was a touring musician my whole life and now I'm a little frustrated at not having the level of proficiency at photography (yet)! I seem to have a good eye for landscapes rather than people. But I'm working hard at trying to be more versatile.

Welcome!  Photography is a much more forgiving art than music tends to be.  No chops to worry about and totally solo activity.
