Frank, PhotoNinja allows the same trick. You can easily process TIFs there.

Welcome to NG, Jens.

After you have made a TIFF you can also save that as a new NEF file in CNX2. I do that in order to keep adjustments open. :)

WOW, I did not know that either. You just came in and enlighten me. I am at your service, Flickr-Buddy.
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

Technically, the NEF is just a special version of a TIF ...

Welcome, Jens.
Compelling opener, that crane capture!
I like the way how you carefully treat the noise as an pictural element on the night shot.

Well, I tried out a couple including photo ninja and capture one pro but I didn't like the raw converting in either. I like nikons conversion in CNX2 and now CNX-D. I hate everything else about NX-D so that is why I move them to CNX-2 via Tiff conversion. May not be optimal but the best I can do with what I got so far. :)

Hi Snetiger
Welcome, you are not alone in having trusted in Bjorns equipment test results, I and am sure others have spent many hours on his web site.
Your BIF image is exceptional as a capture.
I think it would be a interesting exercise, if your ISO 20000 deer could be offered in RAW for others to attempt a noise reduction with their
software, and do a comparison. Just a thought at my end.

Sorry a quick trip to Stockholm to pick up a 200/2 VR set me back on this. I will upload it to Dropbox and post the link here when I am off work. :)
