Winter for a day

The snow came on Saturday, survived through Sunday, and was gone on Monday. While it lasted I visited my favourite location in Glen Ogle.

Now we have storm-force winds again. At least our weather isn't boring!

Great that you managed to get out and capture the snow landscape before it was gone David! - I really like these but #2 is my favourite with the reflections in the water.

We had no winter so far and I like them all for the reminder of snow.
One for the powdered trees and the snow covered darkness of the forest,
Two for it's magnificent scenery character, it's all upright lines earthed by the powdered trees,
Three feels like walking there, a little bit ordinary, enhanced by the bark pattern, still less strong than #1 and even more than #2.

I dig the first one.  I want to like the second, but some of the odd symmetries irk me.  Definitely on my end though, a very nice image indeed!

Yet another vote for #2, reminding me of some pictures by Kaii Higashiyama.

The diagonal line across the rectangule at the bottom of the frame separating the orange-ish weed bush and the nicely blurred reflection of the trees gives the dynamism to the otherwise static image.

Thanks, everybody, for your kind and very useful comments - useful because they are the only feedback I get these days (apart from my wife saying "that's rubbish", etc). Sometimes it can be hard to assess your own images, and it is definitely instructive to hear other peoples' opinions and criticism.
