Feeding is alway a way to call to animal instincts.
I prefer to use tele to not interfer but still participate.

Still:

great shots. colors, graphics, details!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!  Thank you Armando for sharing. I am smiling and I cannot fathom when, or if, I will stop.

Thank you Frank,
All shots at 150 to 300mm

The place has some fish processing shops, they throw their fish remains to the pelicans, I could not stay much longer due to the smell, for this particular shots a kid was throwing the fish, when no one is on shore the pelicans walk up to the pile of discarded fish and keep the area clean.
Pelicans migrate here every year, I over heard an old guy saying he has seen the pelicans come for the last 40 years

Thanks Gary, glad you enjoyed it

Mongo very much likes these. #4 and 5 are Mongo's pick. #5 reminds Mongo of a an orchestra in unison whilst #4 is that orchestra in full symphony with it soloist just standing out above the rest. Nicely seen.

Great series Armando.  Looking at your pelicans, it is easy to see the links between the birds of today and their predecessors the dinosaurs.  Scary.

Hey, that IS another thing. You came to a place where humans and pelicans have been interacting in that way for quite a long time. A story to be told, if not in the pictures ... how about the boy feeding the birds?  ... then in words .. yozur words for me added the missing link, the context, the situational detail that makes the pictures much more interesting.

For me pictures are never stad alone, even pictures like these with great light, great graphics, great parrens and colors.

Thank you

You show really well how special these birds are. I'm with Mongo on #4 and #5. Funny story and great pictures.

This variety of pelican is a lot better looking than the ones found in San Diego.  Lovely series.  The repetitive patterns of the beaks make the images special.

I also like #4 and #5, but that last one you've posted has some special light.

All of them are funny and great captures.
