Cannot modify my posts

Since yesterday, I'm no longer able to modify my posts.

Yesterday, I created a post and modified it - removed an image and added another version and I got an error about "maximum images...". After that I cannot modify any of my posts - the "modify" option is missing.

There is a time window for modifications.

We had to implement that some time ago as some members thrashed threads when discussion temperaments flared.

I'll look into the window setting.

OK Lars, try again. Do note the number of attached images per post has been lowered rcently, from 10 before to 4 now. Just keep that limit in mind.

You might log out, then in again, before attempting to change anything.

Many thanks, Birna - I just logged in again and it seems to work now on both recent and older posts. The modify option was missing on both older and recent posts - also after logging off and on again.
Could you elaborate a bit on the time window for modifications - as said above, the error was also present for all older posts I looked at. It seems the time window is related to ones account and not a specific topic?

The error I received was probably due to the 4 images limit - I was uploading some new versions and might have forgotten to remove the existing ones.

The time window for editing is indeed linked to your membership class and thus affects all posts. I have disabled the time limit for now. Let's keep an eye on the possible side effects (people thrashing threads by removing content and thereby removing coherency of a discussion).

Only admins can delete posts, thus the thrashers will leave a trail of "bread crumbs". However once content is gone, we cannot restore it unless the entire site is rolled back to the latest backup. Mainly meaning the state of yesterday.

A hint for editing attachments: clear the check box for the attachment(s) you wish to change first, then add a new version.
