The D1 had several memorable features,,, 

Turning off the power would delete all images held in the buffer, they would simply not be written to the card

Color profile was,,, interesting

The amount of batteries one would have to carry, during especial winter I would bring 4 or 5,,, sometimes less than 100 images on a full charge each 

 Anyway I could get away with printing poster size for customers

My first digital camera.  It had an unusual image review mode.  It could be configured such that the image automatically displayed on the LCD after the shot and required user action in order to write it to the card.  Otherwise the image would be deleted.  I discovered this "feature" during a wedding shoot.
