I'll never forget the D1! Most amazing picture machine ever! only surpassed by the D3 and now currently the D850 - For my photography ;)

The D1 had several memorable features,,, :o
Turning off the power would delete all images held in the buffer, they would simply not be written to the card ::)
Color profile was,,, interesting ::)
The amount of batteries one would have to carry, during especial winter I would bring 4 or 5,,, sometimes less than 100 images on a full charge each :o
Anyway I could get away with printing poster size for customers 8)
Here D1 back in 2003,,, Lion in the snow ;) (https://live.staticflickr.com/264/18093935394_a7a8aa0c30_h.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/tyU9Bm)Untitled (https://flic.kr/p/tyU9Bm) by Erik Gunst Lund (https://www.flickr.com/photos/erik_lund/), on Flickr

My first digital camera. It had an unusual image review mode. It could be configured such that the image automatically displayed on the LCD after the shot and required user action in order to write it to the card. Otherwise the image would be deleted. I discovered this "feature" during a wedding shoot. :(
