Because, I was away for the weekend, I originally posted an existing JPG that was processed some years ago and which I happened to have on my MacBook Pro.

I have now re-visted my original RAW and re-processed it using the current software and this is the difference:

I vote for the second version. Less color cast on the neutrals but the flag remains vivid. YMMV...

What an excellent capture of a dramatic scene. I love the position of the flag and how it’s lines align with the buildings.

I would prefer the revisited version.  The lowered contrast of the buildings and the grasses enhances the somewhat brightened colors of the flag nicely.

Also, the remnant of the building at the top left corner was judiciously cloned out (?).  ;)

It is quite illuminating to re-open old NEFs in the newest versions of converter software and see just how much better it has become. (Or perhaps our skills have advanced a bit with the passing years as well?)
