Many people might find it useful to make some Presets and Profiles of their own.
I never use Adobe's Camera Profiles but build my own (for each camera body and for many different illuminant sources as well) using x-Rite's ColorChecker Passport and its attendant software.
I also have created a number of my own ACR Presets which may handle just a single aspect such as Sharpening. Each Sharpening Preset produces a specific variety of sharpening with individual Presets for Portraits, Landscapes, Metal or Fur&Feather etc..
I normally shoot multiple frames of a situation and, by using my personal Presets on a selected bunch of frames, I can speed-up processing enormously.
Using batch processing in ACR, coupled with applying my own Presets selectively; I can usually reckon on being able to process at least 1,000 RAW files in a day.
I routinely Process every image I shoot, and star-rate them as I go, (unless it is obviously a dud which I mark as "Delete" in ACR itself) .
I back-up and store all of my processed NEFs (including their attendant metadata) and only select and re-open particular .nefs when I need to do specialised editing and retouching in Ps or to format them for Publishing purposes.
(I very seldom use Lr CC Classic because I much prefer to use Bridge-hosted ACR, but both Lr and ACR do this in a similar manner.)
