Spring has finally arrived. Temperatures in the teens (Celsius) are a welcome change to the ice storm of the previous weekend. Once again, the local red-winged blackbirds are out and about. Their cry is quite distinctive.
I have not had chance to try to photograph one these last few days, so here is one that I took a few years ago. It is a much more modest effort than some of the photographs of birds we have seen here recently. For starters, 180mm on FX is much too short. Think of it as an
