My history with Nikon, Canon and then Canon and Nikon
I started with the film SLR camera Nikon FM as a little boy. That classic was my very first camera, and I got a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 AI, a Nikkor 135mm 2.8 AI and a Nikkor 300mm 4.5 AI with it. Later on I bought the Nikon FM2. The Nikkors of course performed brilliantly.
In 2002, I somewhat reluctantly realized that Canon offered the best digital solutions at the time. Hence I went to Canon for digital, and purchased a Canon D60 with the EF 20mm 2.8 USM, the EF 35mm 2.0, the EF 100mm 2.8 Macro USM. Later I purchased more Canon bodies and lenses.
I never left Nikon, though. From time to time, I used and still use film with my Nikon FMx bodies, and I also have bought several more AI and AIS lenses. At last I decided to act in accordance with my personal photographic history, and give my Nikkors a proper Nikon DSLR body. That led to the purchase of the Nikon D750 which seemed to me an ideal digital partner for my Nikkor AI and AIS lenses as well as a very good choice for an all-round Nikon. I feel satisfied with this situation, and I am extremely happy to be able to acquire valuable experience and photographic knowledge from both systems in the future.
