Any Interest in an Infrared Image Board for Nikongear?

For what it's worth I think an IR and UV board would be a fine addition here. I suspect it would not raise as much interest as other boards on the site though there are technical issues/questions/discussions specific to shooting outside of the visible spectrum that in time could be a good resource if it was all collected on a dedicated board, otherwise it gets lost in the fray. Old sites have had similar sub-forums and I owe just about everything I know of IR and UV photography to such dedicated boards.

As Frank mentioned, a 'beyond visible' sub board seems a good fit. People could bring technical discussion to the board and decide if they wanted to post pictures there or elsewhere on the site.

If someone was not interested in it for whatever reason they could simply refrain from visiting it, no?

Yes, I think there should be a separate board.  Makes it easier to find posts related to IR photography.

the issue i raised is.. IR should be treated as an expressive medium and therefore should be viewed in the more general sense with landscapes, etc.. my fear with an IR only forum topic is that all IR images will be relegated to that IR forum topic and will not be allowed to stand with visible renderings.

the only significant reason for an IR forum topic would be to discuss technical details and insights into the creation of IR images. i just don't see that happening here.

I like looking at the infrared photography that has appeared here, but I'm not convinced that a separate board is needed.
Add to that all the many (most?) forums on which the user experience is made annoying by the visual clutter of 'Board Proliferation', I'd vote no.
However, I can't vote--the voting seems to be closed.  I see the results graph, but no vote checkboxes to fill in.

I can't seem to find any way to vote in the poll.  Moving my pointer over everything in the poll area produces nothing. This is true in both Firefox and IE.  The poll is stated to close on September 3 although there is a padlock icon shown.  Is it still possible to vote or has the closure date been moved up?
