Fuji should just make a 200/2.8. Acceptable size and heft, "simple" optical design, and ligthning fast AF.

Akira, Fuji need to come up with a 200mm fastish lens, f2 would be fine! The big zooms you are suggesting are a bit unwieldy, hence the request for a physically small long lens, something like a CSC compatible Nikon 300mm, f4 PF lens would be spiffing. But according to the Fuji for we spoke wasn't very optimistic!

The 55-200 might be a good option for  your hiking, as it is not heavy.  Image quality is surprisingly good.  The excellent 50-140 is heavy, even before adding the 1.4 t/c to take it up to a real 200.

Thanks for confirming what for me are the main selling points of the 55-200 vs the 50-140. I have never been that interested in 70-200 equivalent pro-grade zooms.

Simone, I tend to agree with Anthony the 55-200mm gets very good write ups. I'm considering this lens for myself, but would much prefer a fixed 200mm lens instead, but it's likely to be a long wait unfortunately!

Don't hold your breath waiting for a price drop, there's likely to be a bit of a queue as the first batch seems to have sold out! Having said that you will love the X-T2!
