UK, Suffolk. Found the Forum
« on: June 01, 2016, 09:26:23 »
Hi All
I followed a link whilst investigating CPU Modifications for AIS lenses and ended up here. I was a duck to the water immediately and joined.
My name is John, I am UK based, in the Fenland of East Anglia, near Mildenhall, Suffolk.
This region supplies many opportunities to capture flora and fauna, with regular beautiful Sky Scapes.
I was keenly involved in photography from my mid teens to the age of 25ish. After a break of 20 years I returned to it
with a keenness that has grown into a healthy obsession.
Much of my photography is done using MF lenses, I also use the TC 16A on my telephoto lenses when the subject demands a bit more speed of focus. I use these on the D800E and now feel that a D500 would be a improvement where
more frames can be captured as a subject moves. This should be a great aid to a MF lens.
I am looking forward to the Nikon Gear experience.

Most welcome to our little island of photography knowledge and friendship!
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

Thank you for your welcome.
Due to work commitments, I failed to attend the local camera club for the 2015/2016 season, so a new source of dialogue and critique is going to be enjoyed.

Most welcome to our small corner of the vast cyberspace. A place free of advertising and rich in photographic expertise.

We flatter ourselves being the hub of CPU modification of manual-focus lenses - and other unspeakable operations on optics. Just read through the 'What the Nerds do' board to see what I refer to.

The NG Events, where members from various countries meet for friendly discussions and having a creative outlet for their photography, happen several times a year. Last month we spent a week in Scotland. Next on the agenda is PhotoKina in Germany (September) and Crete, Greece (April 2017). Shorter events occur too, coming up 5 June is Maastricht. Consult the 'Travel' board. The experiences are shared to the entire community in near real time, too.

These are just examples to show that NG is a special place unlike most other photo sites. Just join in at any level whether by submitting pictures, writing comments or ask technical questions. However, it is advantageous to read our Site Guidelines first.

Thank you for your kind welcome,
I am in the water and swimming with you all now. I will put together article based on my experiences with
the TC16A, confidence it has given me when getting close to wild subjects.
