that lens is crazy. just look at the size of it. i wonder why Nikon never made something like that even in MF...

Well, the contact block is still there, and Nikon apparently is not as agressive as Canon with regard to cutting the rear element (see EF 50/1.0, 85/1.2 and the old 50/0.95 in L mount).
