Fons,
in both versions my eyes get distracted by the foreground leave in the upper right corner.
This is true especially for the second one. It could us some more saturation on the green up to the treeline as well.

I'd play a bit more with the first one as it seems stuck between varying ideas.
Maybe adding and outline filter or contrast might push the scales to one site and settle it.

Personally I think the unsharp foliage adds an element of unrest to an otherwise rather static composition, so no need to "clean it out".

My main concern is a curious lack of commitment to what's inside the frame. I understand what I observe, but fail to see why the photo was taken. My failure of course?

To give some context image taken with Df 85/1.8 H @ f4, late afternoon on a golfcourse taking a walk, the bleak colour of the green and dark trees gave off a mysterious feeling and at the same time being minimal.
So i like that empty understatement it suggests.

"Non commited" sounds rather unfortunate almost personal.
