When we talk about horticulture, look at my avocado 8)
Erik, you need to provide us with more info on that apartment?
Are you renting it?
-
Erik, I like the colour of the red headed lady in the background :)
Jakov, you are to expect a wonderful harvest experience !!
-
Austerity measures and penny-pinching attitudes trickle down into the everyday echelons of our society. This is what our local kindergarten could afford when they established their facilities :)
The traditional Saami lavvo might appear frugal yet due to the stove inside it keeps the kids warm during the cold winter. The young ones have to brace themselves for their native Nordic climate. Better start training early ....
Taken with the Df and my new Laowa 100mm f/2.8 lens, which is a surprising and pleasant novelty in optical terms.

Cool!

Harvest moon.
It is extremely challenging to shoot the full moon with its features retained along with the building that was only darkly lit.
-
Thank you to all for your comments.
Akira - agreed.
The moonlit sky I posted earlier this week had a church in it.
I tried several shots, plus the clouds were moving so sometimes the moon was uncovered and others, it was obscured. But there was no way I could get other than a silhouette of the building.
I tried one with light painting, but couldn't stop this revealing trees & other things that spoiled the shot.
Yours is a good balance between seeing the features of the moon and of the evening cityscape
The next NikonGear gathering should be quite the event 8)
If navigating the latest travel restrictions didn't make travel hard enough, we'll also have to factor in a country with a sympathetic legal system Ian.

Riley 1,5, 1960
My parents owned a Riley some time in the early 1970's. Different model but some of the family resemblance comes across. I'm guessing there aren't many of these in Netherlands (believe they were made in UK?)?
-

-
Colin this bird has something like a tag on the left feet?
Hi Nasos, yes this was taken at the Hawk Conservancy in Andover, UK
Most bird there will carry a tag to help track them. If you zoom in you'll see it has an aerial around 8cm long.
This helps them trace birds that have gone missing
Here's another shot of a Falcon taken at the same site with the older 300mm AF-S lens that shows the bird about to start one of it's high speed attack runs. The transmitter certainly isn't small but doesn't seem to put them off their natural behaviour
https://pbase.com/celidh/image/129758414
You can see some other examples of their beautiful (and intimidating) birds that I took this week here

Many car brands in earlier days in Britain to fuse into Leyland at one time, many similar cars maybe different appointments and all their own orignal brand names, Riley was one of them.

Great catch ;)
In UV the wavelength is shorter so a more defined image is possible given the lens permits, for IR I would guess dof is alittle less since it's only IR light waves that are rendered, but most likely it's very little difference,,,

So good! A really superb framing and subject placement, as well as post processing Fons! You must print this large and frame it!
-
I veered off tangentially from the ever-present chores to do a quick UVIVF (ultraviolet induced visible-light fluorescence) photomacropgraph of the pollen of a Malva moschata. Turned out the stamens and anthers withered so quickly that my attempt of doing a focus stacking at 5X was thwarted. I could only use a narrow sliver of the intended stack leading to an image with a cacophony of chaotic colours and partly sharp detail. I submit it respectfully, nonetheless.
Z7, Laowa 25mm f/2.8 at f/2.8, 5X, UV 365nm LED light ('NEMO'). The resemblance of the pollen grains to particles of Covid-19 virus is fortuitous.
-
What a special and unique view. Lovely.
-
Birna, that is amazing! Rather than the speed of withering, I would wonder how the aquatic plants could stand still in the water during the stacking.
-
They usually are suspended in water. However, shooting through an air-water interface makes UVIVF well-nigh impossible. Frankly, I hadn't expected the Malva flower to wither this quickly as the entire stack was shot in a 5 minutes interval. But it certainly did and made hopeless for Zerene Stacker to track and correct the changes.
-
Surreal and Apocalyptic at the same time - Marvelous!

Oh, sorry, I took it granted that you were shooting an aquatic plant. That said, it is indeed surprising that even the terrestrial flower withers so quickly that it couldn't stand for the duration of stacking.

Before chucking out the sad remains of the Malva moschata flowers, I did a last attempt to make the UVIF record of its coronavirus-alike pollen grains.
This time with a Convoy UV LED torch, Mitutoyo 20x/0.42 objective and the Z7. The stack length was 151 frames, yet due to the irregular 3-D distribution of the anthers I couldn't make the stack as deep as I had wished. Oh well. I'll find something else to do. Further Malva is out.
My impression is that the damaged pollen grains are those showing the highest degree of fluorescence. Don't ask me why -- I'm just the photographer here.

The same kind of lens, yes, but my copy has been me for a good many years. At least 25 years or so. Actually, I first used one around '75 if memory serves and found it enticing back then, but couldn't afford it at the time. Strangely enough considering what I purchased over the years later :)

Red Autumn Color. striking colors. Love the reds in the cityscape.
Akira, that is a bit surreal statement. I guess this shoes have different meanings in different parts of the world. In my hometown it will indicate parts of a neighbourhood were you can buy ilegal substances...does it have a meaning-warning-fashion in your corner of the word?

LOL, Paco, the way the pair of shoes means in you hometown sounds even more surreal. :D I don't think it means anything here in Japan: it should just be the mischief of someone. I did felt it surreal, though. :D

BTW
Macrolepiota procera, the parasol mushroom, is a basidiomycete fungus with a large, prominent fruiting body resembling a parasol. It is a fairly common species on well-drained soils. It is found solitary or in groups and fairy rings in pastures and occasionally in woodland. Globally, it is widespread in temperate regions.

Interesting
What is you overall impressions with tc 2.0 III?
Shortly, in combination with the 300PF, the optics are of very high quality. I like it 1/3 to 2/3 stop down. I think limitations are in need for good light levels for the highest performance, and air quality when shooting at long distance (and sometimes even close). Here is another example of late year vegetation with TC-20E III, now with snow:
