Wonderful John. Just the bare lens? What a rendition and use of the light coming, colors of leave and background. Floating beauty ;)
Thanks Paco. Yes, used only the Micro-Nikkor 105/2.8 Ai-S close to the minimum distance. Because of it's relative fast speed (for a 105mm macro lens) it has a narrow DOF and that can give great effects. In order to get a little bit more DOF I even used f/4 here.
I shall post a f/2.8 version at a little bit more distance in the 'leaves' topic.

-
Frank, that looks like tough to get to. Like your every decision. Will try a 8/10 or even square version? Just a thought
I need to get myself to Japan...
-
Paco: It was the square or the headroom to chose from. I choose the headroom which is the decision I took at exposure. Did not change even rotation. Original frame.
-
I see. Please don´t take me wrong, it is your choice of course and it does work for me too. Getting that tight framing from the beginning is a feat on itself. Also 105 1.4?

Armando figs are rare in Holland they never used to make it through the winter unless in a very sheltered spot, let alone their fruit to ripen, as the climate is changing, possibilties change as well.

Thanks Thomas. Yes, seems a bit 'different' or 'better' than earlier or older versions of the 35/2. - Very sharp at f/2 - (Sharper than the 1.4 at f/2) and easier to focus than the Zeiss 35/2

the D500 is great with the 58G, the D600 too. The D850 grain above ISO2000 has a bad interference with the lens, all fine details are lost, lower frequencies are alright

a beaute, what do they taste like they look a bit like apricot and peach
The persimmons don't have any characteristic fragrance like apricot or even peach.
Their taste...it is difficult to describe...they are sweet basically, but some are quite bitter. This afternoon I happened to watch a TV program showing how to debitter persimmons: they cover the buskets filled with persimons with the sheet of jute which is moist with alcohol. Then the whole thing is sealed with a large plastic bag into which a package of dry ice is put. According to the program, both the alcohol vapor and the carbon dioxide have the effect of debittering. :o :o :o

There are two types, fuyu is the one shown in my photo. It is sweet and slightly crunchy - sort of of like a meaty apple. Hachiya is long and is very astringent until ripe. When it is ripe it is like jelly inside. They are often dried whole and are sweet and chewy.
-
David, thanks for the link. Apparently the top part (sorry for my ignorance of the technical term. It is called Helm in German) of both bell towers are completely missing. Hope they will be restored well.
The structure is call a dome. Famous examples are the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore of Florence, Italy who's architect was Filippo Brunelleschi. That dome is egg shaped as a key design element allowing it to be as I believe the largest church dome or any dome of it's day. Another is the United States Capitol's dome in Washington, D.C.
DeSoto a division of Chrysler called the top of the combustion chamber and a car in '50s the DeSoto Firedome. The engine, a 292 cu. in. V8 was better known as the Chrysler Hemi. A 671 GMC roots blower sat on top. These engines were as sacred to some drag racers of the '60s as a church and as profane to others and a government capital building. :D :D :D
Dave Hartman who is writing to Santa Claws and asking for a Dodge Ram Express 1500 with a 5.7L Hemi (dome) with a locking rear axle. The base 2-door short bed, style side is preferred.
I'm jealous of those with even a small amount of time for photography. At least I can come here and see some really beautiful photographs. Thank you to all who post.
-
It is called "Kuppel" in German and sometimes it is on top of a "Dom". "Helm" is the Soldier's or Builder's cap made of steel or hard plastic or Kevlar, sturdy materials to keep tje people safe.

one of my favourite garden plants: chaenomeles.
This one is probably a chaenomeles japonica hybride flowering dark red.
It seems to like the place in the garden and is flowering most time of the year.

on some days the light is just different and magically so:
-
Indeed, beautiful light, when the sun finally comes.
The late afternoon sun.
-
IIRC it was morning light, just before the sun made it over the horizon... golden dawn light as one might sax

Thanks Armando.
Nice post-card Fons. The 135mm /2.8 is good and practical because it's so damn small ;)

Installation of the new mayor Theo Weterings was in the Pop center 013.
Light was horrible, dark, and occasionally filled with magneta's and blue strayed spot lights.

On the 135/2.8 neat small lens but quite flat in contrast yet there are times i like that lo-contrast look, very wintery and good for headshots as well. ;)
-
Yes true. And the 135mm focal length is too close to the Nikkor 105mm's. Those are better.
-
Wonderful tableau, Fons!
