-
I like the web cradling the spider!
-
Nice images Hans - I agree the natural framing is great
-
Oh, how I like the bokeh of the first one, just because I can :)

Thanks Jakov! Me too. And i had to assume some pretty suspicious positions to make this shot. I tried to use the two background flowers as bokeh and for once it worked ;D

Thanks Anthony and John. I would like to take credit for that, but really, we'd need to compliment the spider on this.
Did put some effort in lighting her and composing the shot as is. All handheld and flash in left hand.

Good job with flash!

Thank you Andrew.

Spring's here. ;-)
Love the spider shot with all the spider and plant "legs".

Hans,
that would make a nice theme.
Gardens provide so many opportunities for photographers.
Would you mind changing it?

Wouldn't mind at all, i'll give it a try. Might need some admin help though.

Unfortunately, that approach is only causing confusing. A Theme thread has to be opened in the proper forum and existing thread(s) moved there.
I'll edit this later tonight, but for now, just continue to post any garden pictures in this thread. Then the "cleaning-up" will be easier for the admins.

I agree Bjørn, next time i'll make sure to address this to the Admins first. I hadn't started the thread as a theme thread though, that idea only surfaced later. Sorry about this.

A member can start a new Theme thread, but only move their own posts into it. Thus sending a PM to a moderator first is a prudent measure if contemplating a change of an existing thread.
You should, however, be able to alter the topic title of your own thread; this is conducted in the first post.

Thanks!

Another nice day in the garden. Summer is approaching fast.
-
slow going theme?
The unpretentious garden has always something to look at.

Df, 55mm f/1.2

Not sure what the flowers are, they were planted by the previous owner of my house. The lens is a barely used Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Fisheye that I got in the mail today.

Not sure what the flowers are, ...
Lysimachia punctata - Garden Loosestrife, Dotted Loosestrife ... ?

Lysimachia punctata - Garden Loosestrife, Dotted Loosestrife ... ?
Yes, I think you are right. I looked up the name on Wikipedia, and the description and pictures fit. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't have a garden. But whenever I visit my parents in Germany, I spend some time in theirs. These were taken during my last visit.
-
Lavender and Lilies
-
yellow was yesterdays dominating garden color.
-
green... Allium seeds
-
Poppy
-
Sheesh Thomas, some nice garden shots !!
-
Brute, some really nice flower shots!
Thomas G, my friend, you have to invert the "green... Allium seeds" and then show me the results!

You are welcome, Jakov. When I find time. A quick and dirty jpeg inversion did not reveal the type of result I might like.

Late summer flowering plant, cant remember its name, Rudbeckia type perhaps, with interesting petals.
-
Well spotted, Fons! Exquisite flowers, subtle color and sensitive composition work really well together.
-
thank you Akira
-
Fons, these are nice flowers nicely framed!
-
Thank you Thomas

... days are falling visibly shorter again

another Df/50-135/3.5. Fall colours start to shine in.

old roses
-
Did not really know where to put this. So I hope this is OK :)
-
Beautiful spider web, especially #2.
Here are tungsten-lit roses.
-
I wish I had a garden like you guys, Heligon, 135DC, Zenit, or any lens on an extension ring would do me just fine :)
-
Chaenomeles japonica hybride this morning. A garden has photo season year round.
-
Thomas, this is lovely!
