all with this relatively "soft" look (not : lacking sharpness, but with moderate contrast) common to the CV 40/2 and CV 58/1.4 at short range. It is not just about the backgrounds.
-
Not sure it's soft. Hard to explain. In this topic ( http://nikongear.net/revival/index.php?topic=1098.0 (http://nikongear.net/revival/index.php?topic=1098.0) ) also some flowers with the CV90.

Wonderful rendering.
-
Hard to explain indeed. Strangely, my "old and inferior "50/1.4 SC manages to bring some "pop" into such pictures, Thanks to all sorts of aberrations the CVs don't have.
-
The second picture explores the highest fidelity of tones.
fascinating.

Thanks first shot is with the closefocus diopter attached the 2nd without, my apo-voigtlander 90 is the 2nd incarnation so it fully meters while its chipped bought new from hongkong

I am lucky to have the same version. ;) Did you notice increased sharpness with the Close Focus lens attached? I have tested it now a few times, but apart from bringing the image closer, it doesn't give an extra enhancement (on details, colours, contrast and sharpness).

One thing i did notice with the diopter attached exposure is more sensitive.
On the edit i have better results with Photoninja than with Photoshop cc, the latter being ever so aggressive.
