Immediately after I made this photo of a dying hollow oak in dense fog, I got called from the hospital that my Parkinson-afflicted friend was dying. I just managed to reach his death bed before it was too late. R.I.P.

For some time I have been looking for a nice D2h but never found a suitable sample, until last week. The seller didn;t know whether the camera was working as the owner died last year and he couldn't ask her.
Today the camera arrived. in a mint condition and at closer inspection the shuttercount was 1.280.

The seller did not understand a lot from camera's and so the price was based on the fact it couldn't be tested and with no guarantee, so at own risk.
Including the original mint strap, screen protector, original good working EN-EL4 and loader 75 €

When I first bought the 1.4/105E Nikkor I was blown away by the color fidelity I saw on the D850. This is the picture that stayed on my mind: a very small plant on the side of the road in the corner of a fairground.
Thus: my "fairground attraction" in a current mixdown with Photoshop 2025 CC & ACR
-
A portrait with the Nikon D2h with it's unique sensor and the 'new' Nikkor AF-S 28/1.4E It has a filmish look
-
For some strange reason, Nikon dropped GPS support for the D2H. The later model D2Hs got the feature back. This was a main reason I stopped using the D2H in its time, despite the nice handling and feel of the camera. And those 4MPix files were highly malleable, too.

And the camera is very fast, and reliable. Especially compared to the Fuji S2 and S3. ;)

You are very right my friend. I do take a lot of photos in fact (professionally and pro bono), yet, I do more work in discovering older shots anmd editing them for the first time ...
-
While Fons technically speaking is correct, we don't police our members. As long as the images are taken - or rediscovered - approx. within the time window covered in a given trend, it's OK with me.
-
it looks cold
It wasn't too bad, only -7°C. The shovelling to move nearly a foot of snow that fell last night was less fun. It was coming down so hard that I wondered if the pilot could see the runway!
Broil King: is Broil a name or is it related to the German chicken Broiler?
You will have to enlighten me about the German chicken broiler. Here in Canada, broiling involves direct heat from an electric or gas element in the top of the oven. One would use a broil pan to catch any juices. The result is along the same lines (but not quite as good, to my tastebuds) as grilling. Broil King is a reputable brand of grills. As far as I can tell, they have nothing to do with actual broilers :)

Timber prices are all-time high at present, thus no wonder we see a lot of deforestation :(
It's tempting to approach subjects very close with the ultra-wide Laowa 9mm, however a lesson quickly learned is that although the lens is surprisingly sharp, it also suffers from severe field curvature and vignetting up close. The 9mm does better on my Z/DX cameras though.

End-of-life
Are you liking the z 70-180/2.8, Birna?

It's better than expected. Also handles TC14Z well.

Was a week in Jutland
One from the beach at Rømø.
I went out one night for some night sky pictures, but got at severely dented HN-2, the Z8 managed the crash whit the 28mm f2.8 in front, glad it was not at new "plastic" lens ::)

Beautiful emptiness. The lines echo in the the floor and in the sky was unexpected and works very well.

Zf Voigtländer 40mm f/1.2
What a lovely image Fons.
Did you crop the original file much to get this result?
I was curious about using a 40mm lens for a portrait like this
(and how well it works, with the subject filling the frame nicely).
I'm sure having f1.2 helps with isolation, even on this fl.

Locally brewed beer and a science talk.
"What more could one ask for...."
Well, though i like beer, i think the answer this time is
Silk.

A slight crop on the right-hand side to rid a disturbing element. Yes its at 1.2 fortunately our friend stayed still for a moment. Thank you Colin.

More silk for Colin. Here it is being woven on a 19th-century Jacquard loom.
