Love you picture, John. Emotionally appealing by offering a great color scape and setting the action (bicycle rider) in the back to make a great docum, entation shot more lively.

Yesterday I went to the Botanical Gardens of the Bonn University to catch some fall colors with my Sinar, Schneider APO Digitar N°48 and the D850 as a Digital back.

I am absolutely stunned and blown away by the image quality the D850 has to offer. I shoot a whole tree and still get a macro like resolution of single leafs!

My only enemy yesterday was wind and subject movement in general, so I had to overshoot significantly and it is a PITA to sort through and throw out the shots destroyed by subject movement.

Yes, most of the shots are "good enogh" for most purposes, but my idea is to make them work as a whole AND as a 100% crop which means a lot more work, concentration, energy and time.

right click the image "view image" and zoom to 100% ... and think that this is significatly downscaled

Frank, persimmon trees are lovely this time of year. The D850 seems to really capture the detail and color too.  Sry easy to blow out the red channel with those leaves. I’m sure I’ll post some of my persimmon tree over the next month or two.

Thank you. I am still in the training phase to get the most from the D850. Of course it is easier to get the maximum from her in a studio situation were light & subject movement are fully controlled and ISO=64 , yet the potential of her outdoors with the Sinar are stunning. I always dreamt of a setup that delivers the whole tree AND the single leaf at the same time. I got that now and will practice until it shows much better than is already shows in this shot.
